Marte Meo

Everyday moments are the true moments of significance.

Marte Meo is a video-based method for providing information about how to support development in daily interactions. Marte Meo was developed in the Netherlands in the 1970’s and is now practiced around the globe as a method of supportive communication.
Marte Meo is suitable for any professional working with children and families in a variety of settings. Short, everyday play moments are used in a process called Video Interaction Guidance which has a strong and growing evidence base. Video captures the everyday moment to moment interactions that take place between adults and children. It slows everything down to micro moments and allows our brain to see, process and comprehend all of the opportunities we have to support a child’s development. Seeing is believing! Using video is a strengths based reflective practice tool helps us to stay focused on our strengths, see the areas that a child may require additional support and become skilled in these areas.
